How Does One-way Vision Work?
Naturally, the human eye tends to notice brighter colors over darker colors. Since the perforated one-way vision film contains areas of printed graphics and an unprinted see-through portion covering 50 to 85% of the sign, the holes where there is no film or ink look generally darker and almost black.
When someone, during the day, looks at the window glass from the outside, their eye is drawn to the printed image, as it reflects more light than the perforated see-through area, which looks like it is on a solid piece of vinyl.
However, if you view from the inside, you will see the outside world through the holes. The secret here is that the printed graphics on the outer side become invisible thanks to a black backing that covers only the printed areas of the vinyl without blocking the unprinted portion.
